Pressing toward the Goal

You know how sometimes things just hit you?

Somehow, you're just going along, when a thought strikes you with such force that it takes your breath away.

Tonight I am suddenly hit with the wonder of God's goodness.
Hit so hard that it brings tears.
My heart is pierced, and it overflows with thanksgiving.
So full that it hurts.

And as the tears flow, I taste the salt... not of grief, but of joy... and breathe a prayer of thanks and wonder.

Oh give thanks unto the Lord of lords;
For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.
Psalm 136:3
