Something Different

Confession is good for the soul, they say. Well, I must confess that I already have several blogs. And... I don't keep up with them. I abandoned Xanga because it started feeling a little too Myspacey, and I wanted a change. I like my Wordpress, but it doesn't allow flash or embeds freely, so I'm hoping that blogspot will be a little more "fun" in that respect. Plus, for some reason I feel like I need to be more serious over there... our missions travelblog and our website both link to it, and I don't necessarily want that much publicity for everything I write.

There's a place for more formal writing. I'm going to try to keep up with that kind of thing more, still. I'm not abandoning it completely. But I want this blog to be different. Because sometimes... sometimes... you just want to write. Something from your soul. No worrying about being taken out of context, or offending anyone. No worrying about what grade you'll get on your english or if that should have been a semicolon instead of a comma. Sometimes you just want to let your mind spill out freely through your fingers. Sometimes you want a little privacy.

That's why I'm starting again.

You know, I love a fresh, new, clean journal or sketchbook. I really do. When the cover is still clean, and you have an entire book full of unmarred paper. I especially love good, creamy drawing paper. I always hate to even try drawing or writing anything in new books, they're so pretty. But I always go ahead anyway. Cause I have to write, draw, letter, doodle... create. That's how I feel about a new blog, too. So many possibilities. I don't want to clutter it up with useless junk. I want this blog to be clean... peaceful... thought-provoking. I want it to be a sanctuary. I want to keep it simple.

So... here's the first step. We'll see where it leads.

  1. Absolutely! Blogging is just an online journal, and it is nice to share your thoughts without worry of constant fishbowlism. Do you like my word? It all looks very nice, Jewels. xoxo me
